@sapinker suspicious of all the twin studies. What if the environments for children are all basically the same anyway? Then ONLY genes vary. -
@PunishmentHurts@sapinker If environs are same, and matter, then strangers & adoptees should be as similar as identical twins. They aren't. -
@adnausica@sapinker never said it's all or nothing. Only that if environs are the same, genes would be the only difference. -
@PunishmentHurts@sapinker Twin studies explain variations. We all share some common genes, environment, and behaviours; not of interest. -
@adnausica@sapinker it supports too much bad ideology, it needs some qualifying. Some think it means it doesn't matter what we choose to do -
@PunishmentHurts@sapinker Bad ideology comes from all sources; culture, genes, parenting, social. Misuse does not change facts & shouldn't. - End of conversation

@sapinker Dr. Pinker—could you please point me to any consensus publication that intelligence is a genetic trait as the RTed article claims? -
@sapinker Oh, may I hasten to add that there's at least one anecdotal case that intelligence/genius is cultivable — Polgar sisters (chess).
