You being heartbroken breaks my heart.
-
all the rich people are so heartbroken...what Allen could have actually done with his wealth instead of building an updated version of the Spruce Goose.
-
Ahahahahahaahaha (I agree, and am contrarian as am poor and a smoker and find microsoft-anything vile, & actually argumentative and feel fucked with in any interaction with it, but like the guy's mind, I'm ashamed)
-
The only problem that any of them care to solve is "How the fuck do I get even richer???" To hell with everyone else.

I read your book, Pinker. Question: Why is it that the "wealthier" we get, the more we have a problem with homelessness? Who is talking about this? WHy are you rich people so indifferent to a problem that would be trivially easy to solve?????
-
richer, while the poor get poorer, because when you have less to screw up with, your mistakes are all that much larger by comparison. And no, giving people money doesn't solve it either. Look up the lottery paradox.
-
Poverty is not a character flaw. Mental illness is not a character flaw. Low IQ is not a character flaw. Addiction is not a character flaw. Homelessness and poverty are what's expensive. Fixing the problem would ADD to the economy, not detract.
-
I did not say those were character flaws. I said they got there due to their own mistakes in many cases. If they truly are mentally ill or addicted, giving them more money won't solve the problem. At least, not until they are mentally fit and/or sober again.
-
They don't need money, per se. They need basic, safe shelter. It's an easy fix. I also challenge your assertion that people are homeless b/c of their own mistakes.
-
Let me make this clear though. I am not referring to the homeless who have actually been affected by situations out of their control or agency. They do exist. I am sure of it. BUT They are much rarer than people seem to think.
-
You're an expert on homelessness? THey're everywhere, and their numbers will be increasing. During the Great Depression no one could say that people were at fault for being poor or homeless. They created a social safety net, and it saved a lot of people from dire poverty.
-
Which is to say, I am doing much more than you, even if it is going to take me longer to do it. The great depression was a terrible thing, but you should start looking for solutions instead of looking for people to blame. Again. Shame.

A jerk to the Seattle area. Ruined environment of Lake Washington to park his yacht. Gave$250,000 to defeat Democrats in 2018. Had the taxpayers subsidize his Seahawks stadium, County could have spent for homeless and veterans. Build a museum which glorifies drug culture. etc,etc
