I am automatically skeptical of explanations that begin with the phrase "the only way." The is sound science behind climate change, but working out the economics and human behavior is an unsolved problem.

First, determine what actually is causing the change that you believe is taking place. Unlike all the changes that have taken place through the earth’s geological history. And make sure funding pressure and ideology doesn’t influence that finding. Good luck

I am pinning my hopes on climate engineering to save mankind, even though I have seen the dystopian movie "Snowpiercer" (2013).

However inaccurate the Club of Rome may have been in the details, their main point seems intact: economic growth will cease before the end of this century, probably by ~2070. Volens, nolens. Probably the latter.

It's hard to take seriously any discussion in which vast amounts of someone's money is going to be moved around and yet seeing there is no mention of the role that nuclear energy can play.

carbon taxes work if a) industry innovates instead of passing the costs to consumers and b) consumers consume less. Both not valid. Demand for energy is very inelastic and industry does not do R&D. What we need is for governments to increase R&D into nuclear and into fusion

why not both carbon taxes and R&D? also, carbon taxes create the incentive for industry to innovate on low carbon.
