Why would this "chill innovation"? Since when is lying about investor relations on twitter an essential part of product development?

Elon Musk's don't grow on trees. You let the eccentrics do their thing, and you get the fruits of their labor. You stifle them, you get nothing.
-
What labor did Elon Musk ever do? He was the money behind paypal thanks to millions of dollars in loans from his dad, not the brains. All he's ever done is pay other people to make stuff and take the profits and credit for himself.
-
He's a visionary trying to save the planet from itself and you're a very small egotistical envious person who'd rather watch the world burn than understand how it works.

Me: states fact You: insults me Me: points out that you don't have facts You: insults me again Whatever you say, dawg.
-
"What did Elon Musk ever do!?" Either that's rhetorical or you are actually in desperate need of education.

If impulsive tweets are the price we pay for moving away from fossil fuels, I think we can handle it.

This is nonsense. He can still be involved and innovate until he is blue in the face. What he did was wrong.

Did the case against Theranos chill innovation? It didn’t even chill fraud!
-
Except Theranos never had a product. It was wholly built on lies and fantasy. To say the same thing about Musk's companies would be ridiculous.
-
Theranos had a real FDA cleared "nanotainer." Enron had real oil producing assets. Lernout & Hauspie had some real software too. Here’s what the Director of the SEC said in charging Thernos with fraud. Tesla is Theranos On Wheelspic.twitter.com/N96Oxyw0QM
-
"Tesla is Theranos On Wheels" Come on now... That is wild hyperbole.
-
Tesla & Theranos:
Cult of personality CEO
Raise capital w/ misleading claims
Culture of deception
Beta-test on customers risking health
Sell non-existent product/features
Enabled by weak BOD
Claim to save the world
Stifle critics & target whistleblowers -
Read the chronicles of Theranos, Enron, Valeant, Sunbeam, Lernout & Hauspie, Worldcom and other frauds. Then look beyond the hype at Tesla Tesla is an amazing mashup of these & a multi-layered scam.https://twitter.com/thebenschmark/status/1006277893767516161?s=21 …

The parallels to Theranos are multiple. The Walgreens sideplot- lack of due diligence & subsequent halo of legitimacy in the public, is but one.https://twitter.com/thebenschmark/status/996059869324210176?s=21 …

It will be resolved before any lasting impact. EM might be impulsive when the stakes are low, but here he will be utterly sincere & very careful & will build a thoughtful, believable rebuttal. SEC doesn't want to appear vindictive & also has an obligation to shareholders.
