I find that charts and graphs are the best for transmitting slowly gained data. Most mainstream news hate charts and graphs, or at least use them sparingly.

It is true that "news" does not give a reasonable world view, but that is not where the baisc world view should come from. Rob's proposal does not fix the main problem of distorted world views: the echo chamber. Reader funded media will make it worse.
