Dozens of church bells with swatikas: A reminder that Nazism was not an “atheist movement,” as is sometimes claimed. Many German Christian groups supported the Nazis & vice-versa, united by their hatred of secular modernity.https://nyti.ms/2NERkNb

In fact the Germans never used the term "Swastika" - they used the term "Hakenkreuz" ("hooked cross"). It was a British pastor who translated it into English using the non-Christian Hindu term "swastika":https://swarajyamag.com/ideas/swastika-is-hindu-and-the-hooked-cross-is-nazi-the-rest-is-conspiracy …

You do know they killed Christians who opposed the Nazification of the churches, don't you? That they appointed their own church leaders to run the churches, and monitored sermons, etc, just like they are doing in China? Does that make the Chinese government Christian?

Christian teaching was gutted during the previous century, but liberal academics, who paved the way for Nazi anti-semitism, while also watering down orthodoxy. Much like liberals are doing in America and the UK.

lol. Stop with your apologetic nonsense. Virulent anti-semitism was preached from the Xtian pulpits for centuries. Jews as Christ killers was at the heart of Xtian teaching.

All of that remarkable writing in your books; research, stats, hard numbers, evidence, dialectic, reason, historical perspective, and so on. But you see a church bell with a swastika and your brain turns into liquid mush! What a sweeping generalization, and condescending!

PFFFFT! Those are powerful anti religion blinders you’ve got. Always at the ready. The Church largely caved in fear, yes, but Naziism was a pagan movement. Good grief, if you can’t bother to read a proper history of Nazi Germany, at least grasp this topic via Metaxas’ Bonhoeffer.

Brainless. You can be atheist and acknowledge that the Nazis co-opted anything they possibly could to gain legitimacy.

Many of the top SS commanders and brains behind "Final Solution" or solution to the jews problem were highly educated, and had double doctorates ... If someone were to follow your logic, science is against freedom and salutes Nazis?

Not a symbol of wellbeing in the Rhineland. Especially not on a Nazi era bell adorned with the words "Everything for the fatherland - Adolf Hitler".
