I had this thought earlier today. The "SDE" step is purely intermediary and thus should not be part of the "who won" question. If you wanna go by popular vote, fine. If you wanna go w/ actual delegate count, fine. Makes no sense to go by "SDE."

We have known for over 24 hours as verified by our county party that won the in Black Hawk County with 2,149 votes, 155 County Delegates.

After national delegates are decided, SDE's become meaningless. Popular vote would be the only way to declare victory. As has highlighted, the media has chosen its candidate and have ignored normal convention.

Bernie came out of Iowa as the only leading candidate w/ support from non-white voters— the base of the Democratic Party. Bernie has the diverse, working class coalition. He has the energy. He has the money. This electability case is open and shut.

If you feel like our political system doesn't work for you, now is the time to join us in our fight. Together we are going to end the corruption of a system that helps billionaires but leaves working people behind. We are going to build a government that represents all of us.

Is there a worse outcome for the future of the Iowa caucus than this? --failure to report the vote --a second alignment-SDE split --a likely winner who has limited national potential due to limited support among nonwhite voters underrepresented in Iowa

And since I keep talking about this IRL: there was no reason why the Iowa Democrats had to keep using SDEs to award delegates once they started counting tabulated votes. This was entirely their choice, and the risk of a muddled result was totally obvious

(the Iowa Republican caucus, for instance, uses a straight popular vote without any of the realignment pageantry)

I don't see why Bernie Sanders would bother to go to any CNN town hall. Here we have CNN call him a loser, live on TV while we await full results. Sanders is winning in popular vote and tied on delegates. CNN has no credbility. They are finished.

Media is all in on state delegate equivalents because it helps the narrative. Popular vote? Who cares, actual delegate counts? Who cares. Spin for the New Hampshire primary?

Bernie was up against 3 moderate candidates and Warren and is still coming out of this with the highest popular vote in Iowa. It just can not be spinned any other way. This was not a two person race like 2016. Media is complicit in framing the Pete narrative.

New Hampshire will serve as a clarifying moment after Iowa. It had the highest turnout of any state in 2016 with 52%, compared to 15.7% Iowa, 30% South Carolina, and just 8% for the Nevada caucuses. Indepedentents make up 42 percent of the total registered voters in the state.

Bernie is going to end up with the most votes and tied for the most delegates in Iowa. He’s going to win big in New Hampshire. He’s going to win Nevada. He’s honestly in a good spot. Things are going well.

The predicament of the Biden Campaign. Do they attack Buttigieg who is syphoning votes away from Biden in New Hampshire. Will they launch a robust media blitz of why Buttigieg fails to draw broad support from minority voters. What choice do they have, stay silent and lose?

"If he came in fourth, yeah, that could hurt,” said Bill Freeman, a Biden donor from Nashville,That’s a bad night, no matter how you spin it.” Biden campaign only option is to go after Buttigieg who has had no 'vetting'.

Why no media coverage of actual delegate count in Iowa. Only focus seems to be on state delegate equivalents.
