Not going to thread this one; would rather people read the writing directly and save Twitter from another 100+ tweet thread. Thank you to the many, many friends who provided valuable input.

This is a detailed functional Ethereum model including long-term roadmap items Flexible to easily run any scenarios/timing (eg, when 4844, danksharding, rollup data compression rates, staking rates, fees, MEV burn, issuance, etc)

Second is why DAO governance is amazingly slow and why we have BoD models in IRL corporate governance; I think on-chain governance converges on reflecting standard modes for corporate governance with additional shareholder capacity of managing bad principals (ie BoD)

Replying to @owocki
1) don't always need it, let ppl work on different things 1a) you only need buy-in from the ppl who are going to execute 2) fighting between two ways is usually worse than finding a third. in other words, voting is overrated vs brainstorming

Since AI/ML is the new hot thing, I thought an introduction was due on how most modern ML systems work and why rapid progress may be a concern for those raised on shitcoins & the one minute chart as well as anyone else who’s interested but less informed.

3AC lads raising a 25m round to target a 20B claim market as GTM. Optimistically assuming they get 50% of that and charge the upper 50 bios, that’s 20B * 0.5 * .005 = 50m (2x round size, 4x round size if you assume they get it all). The real fraud here are these economics 😭

Additionally experimental artists are less likely to get destroyed by AI because they represent deviation from norms. it’s very hard to replicate, say, a Felipe Pantone to the same fidelity If anything, excited for generative AI to force innovation and boundary pushing in art

More specifically, there’s a huge emphasis on heritage (ie Patek), relevance to historical events (ie Rolex) or pushing the boundaries of micromechanical engineering even when such functions are easily done with quartz/digital watches What’s the equivalent for art?

The Quartz Crisis of the 70s/80s seemed like doomsday for mechanical watchmaking, until creatives rebranded mechanical watches as luxury goods with a focus on heritage and reliance opening a new market to haute horology I wonder if generative AI might do the same for human art

Some of the worst news I could have woken up to this morning. TT was one of the most magnanimous, kindest and most dynamic individuals that I knew; he extended so much hospitality to me when I likely didn’t merit it and I always enjoyed talking with him. RIP, this is surreal

So surreal, can’t believe this. Was chatting just a few days ago. To TT’s family and team, I wish you strength and closure.

The whole point of what we're all building here, what Satoshi wanted, was radical openess to prevent 08 style crises I hope, in time, that that question gets rendered obsolete, and that people realize that panic is useless; the only path forward is through (building)

I'm not going to dismiss these questions as invalid because there were and are legitimate concerns with building on-chain (security, scalability), but these are all problems being actively worked on by insanely smart people The FTX saga shows why transparency is paramount

During raising, @Leoanicca and I got so many questions from VCs on why we were building on DeFi rails over CeFi; we had a slew of business reasons (ie composability, better UX for target market) but we rarely felt we could get away with simply quoting transparency

Build a website that lets consenting adults buy recreational drugs = 2 life sentences + 15 years. Build a website that steals $10 billion from innocent people = hugs with politicians and celebrity endorsements.
