There was actually a bit of a battle in the early days between CRT terminals with bright characters on a dark screen vs. dark characters on a bright screen.

Low refresh rate and low persistence caused dark screen to win out. The flicker of a light screen gave headaches back in the day.

I loved that machine back in the day. We used them at Coopers & Lybrand, all the way up to the T5200.
