#OTD Rosalind Franklin was born in 1920. She is best known for producing Photograph 51, an X-ray image used by Watson & Crick to create their model of the structure of DNA. Franklin’s work was unacknowledged at the time, but Crick later called her contribution critical.

"Scientific research is one of the most exciting and rewarding of occupations. It is like a voyage of discovery into unknown lands, seeking not for new territory but for new knowledge. It should appeal to those with a good sense of adventure." Fred Sanger was born #OTD in 1918
