also important to note that the minority votes for Trump across the board increased . Race only cannot interpret this . Economic oppression , anger and alienation that many black workers share with white works play an important role.

Remember the phrase ‘melting pot’ from the mid 80’s? It wasn’t such a great approach. Then came the ‘tossed salad’ or something like that. It was a dud as well. Both made things worse with the added tension. So what’s left? Talking with each other & asking the hard questions.

Then there was the mosaic. That didnt allow for flexibility and growth. We have to push conversations in order to avoid simplistic labels.
