Over five decades the Davis Family transformed the 100 block of West 10th in Vancouver, shaped the zoning of their community.Despite their lifetime of community service they were refused being honoured by the City of Vancouver. Do the right thing, please.

  4. I'm calling it.Absolutely disgusted at this Conservative MP in a sex work discussion asking the NDP MP if she had "considered" doing sex work. Absolutely disgusted. He tries to dig himself out of hole of righteousness, tyranny. This should have been stopped in the House immediately.

Cleaning city sidewalks is the right thing to do for the most sustainable necessary way of moving-walking and rolling. That is all that is moving people today in the snow.

Seriously this is something that should be done by the city.Snowplows help cars, bikes, but allowing those using the most sustainable mode of transport~walking~should be aided too. Kudos to this wonderful snow angel. Give her a civic backup next snow storm, CofV.

This is why a truck/SUV is responsible for a 47% increase in pedestrian industry gets around safety regulations by building SUV on truck platform.Consumer driver is safe, everyone else is not. This is what 21st century motoring looks like for a pedestrian.

Why doesn’t Vancouver have a network of leading pedestrian Intervals that cost 1,200 dollars an intersection & can reduce pedestrian deaths/serious injuries by 60%? Why only a handful here?

The Davis Family renovated Victorian houses on the 100 block of West Tenth Avenue for 50years, * worked to create the zoning for the area based upon their work. Three generations carried on this work. They deserve to be honoured. Help city change its mind

The positive public feedback I have received supporting a City of Vancouver proclamation recognizing Mount Pleasant's amazing Davis Family has been overwhelming. It is why I love this city. I will be on CBC Radio today hoping the City changes its mind.

They are nearly here~but what problem are E scooters supposed to solve? And if they take away from walking, biking and transit trips, are they a good thing? My post here:

I have been trying to find out how City of Vancouver proclamations are approved. It's secretive, a little odd, and is not a transparent process.

The late Pat Davis and her son John Davis conserved a significant block of Edwardian rental houses and created the pattern language for Mount Pleasant's zoning. But it's not enough for the City to recognize them.

Why are we so afraid of benches in the public realm? I always put benches in for a six month trial period and said we'd remove them if there was a problem. I never removed one bench.

Why poprock downtown architecture and the current craze for SUVs & monster trucks parallel themselves in a cultural clash~who is this all benefiting?

Someone tweeted that 's photo of himself overshadowed by a truck's grille wasn't representative of the 47% increase in pedestrian mortalities due to trucks/suvs because truck was jacked up.Well this vehicle is not jacked up but shows why these are killing machines.
