An interesting takeaway from the HELM benchmark is that the @CohereAI base models outperform most other base-models (GPT-3 davinci-1 etc).
The models that beat Cohere are instruction tuned. Very curious to see the evaluations that also include Cohere instruct models!

3/n * we say that llms are "hallucinating". they create a certain picture of reality based on the data they have been fed, which is not necessarily true. however, with each iteration, the models are getting better and better. i'm optimistic it will be solved soon.

I'm pretty optimistic that the LLM reliability / factualness issue can be fixed. The key is to use LLMs as a dialog interface and not as a store of knowledge. LLMs as the query layer between a human user an a knowledge graph with sources (which can be hybrid generated/curated).
