Even if Swift is rock solid, your company probably has more important things to do right now than rebuild infrastructure.

Swift is like a pill that makes you twice as strong, but it's undergone zero clinical trials.

@sandofsky This is a pretty accurate analysis. Having been an early patient, I can report mixed outcomes and excitement about the future.

@schwa If missing a deadline by 3 months would destroy your company. -
@schwa Maybe a better description would be, "If my app misses a deadline by 3 months, I will be fired." -
@sandofsky Remember when a 3 month dev cycle was “quite short really…” -
@schwa Every night before I scream into a pillow. -
@sandofsky You’re not drinking enough. Obviously. -
@schwa Don't worry. Soon it'll be a daily cadence.

@sandofsky I've found this to be true for over a decade of WWDC announcements, but only Core Data has approached this level of riskiness. -
@sandofsky I don't understand the urge to port. Use it for new apps, but porting loses all the testing and fixes. Plenty of obj-c engineers! -
@sandofsky Port, yes, but writing new code in Swift is fine. -
@sandofsky It's nuts to port an app anyway. Just a way to spend time making new bugs. -
@sandofsky What are the chances there’s a team working on Xcode for iOS, in Swift, for iPad Pro? :)
