1/ Sooo the @fbcfcn sends out a msg TODAY inviting ppl to attend a lobby day of MPs on the Hill. They've published a bunch of issues they'll be lobbying on, but I don't know a single person who is an expert on these issues who is participating. #LiberalSchemes #cdnpoli
2/ there's no document that the community can take a look at to see what their positions are, and we have no idea who is attending supposedly on our behalf. We do know that the @fbcfcn only intends to meet individually with Liberal MPs #LiberalSchemes @cdnpoli
3/ Which again furthers my suspicion that this is just a Liberal front group. This sounds like less of a lobbying initiative & more like an opportunity for Liberal MPs to meet with Black community members & curry good favour during the pre-campaign period #liberalSchemes #cdnpoli
4/ But this does tell me 2 things:
1. The @liberal_party plans to announce a policy change that is related to one of the topics on this list. This mutual support scheme helps the Libs in elxn2019 & helps to legitimize the @fbcfcn even tho the change was decided b4 the lobby daypic.twitter.com/B1DmTS3xfr

2. The @fbcfcn is desperate for legitimacy and nervous about the critiques that were leveled against them by community at the start of this month. This strange day-of invite is a scramble to seem open and to increase their legitimacy

7/ And most of all, don't be placated. Despite the supposed "win" that will be announced from this measure (my money is on marijuana amnesty), know that it was all part of the plan. Don't unwittingly place your trust in supposedly representative orgs. Trust yourself. Mobilize.
8/ And regardless of what the win is, nvr forget that the reason the Liberals have put this much energy & funds into this type of organization/lobby day front is because of the ppl on the ground who put the pressure on them first. They had to appear like they were doing smth.
