It bothers me that there seem to be so many people on HN who appear to reject social norms related to having published infrastructural Open Source. (E.g.: Even if there’s no warranty or promise of support, if you want to quit, you should refrain from disruptive active action.)

Is there an official -ism name for this? (Or the related variant that one shouldn’t even be upset about the outcomes of that attitude?)

Milton Friedman's line "the social responsibility of business is to increase its profits" is related here. But people take this a lot further in many other ridiculous directions. For example, one person suggested on HN to me that free speech required that no one criticize speech.
