I worked my way through college, paid as I went. Why should others get their loans forgiven?

What kind of argument is this, amd why do people feel comfortable making it in public? “I suffered, so I think other people should have to” Why dont people rapidly get to, “I suffered, and I dont want other people to have to”.

Some people have been arguing that doing so is a give away to white people, who disproportionately go to college -- even though black people (esp black women) have proportionally more debt.

-
^^^ It ends up being a selective financial stimulus. I would pair this in an actual proposal of economic reparations(0% interest mortgage loans, subsidized education, and accelerated debt forgiveness) for black people

As a millennial who graduated a public university (in-state tuition) in 2008 with $32k in loans and paid them all off in under 5 years....I support this message. Because I can see past my own "achievements" and understand that this would benefit the economy AND private citizens.

As a millennial that served on the military and had a gi bill to pay for my tuition I support this message as well. Not everyone could or should serve in the military for college money. And everyone that has the ability to continue to higher ed should. Regardless of money to pay.

I love this and support a large-scale forgiveness plan.
