What the political case for impeachment? I am not getting the upside. Hearings (aka Senate Watergate style) for sure.....but moving to formal impeachment just seems to be fraught with "danger danger Will Robinson".

What’s the political down side to drafting detailed articles of impeachment (obstruct, emoulement, bribery, campaign violations, corruption) and starting impeachment proceedings including hearings?

You may end up being right but it’s not a fair criticism today. They’ve barely had time to read the report much less communicate with the caucus. There is real work to be done before charging forward

Fair point. But there’s general confusion among Dems on the Hill over whether they should even be talking about it and how.
