This reminds me of what one expert told me about how Amtrak has had to carefully and stealthily lobby the admin and Congress the last few years, in regard to expansion plans.

I calculated my carbon footprint for a 25-mile roundtrip to the office on a train, and it was tiny compared to by car.

I would love to see more trains as part of a climate change plan.
We need to be able to walk and bike once we get where we are going so we need smart city planning as well.

We need a fast rail system, but Amtrak should probably not get anymore gov dollars. Use a UK model or something similar
