I may not have a PhD (yet!) but I DO have the good sense of knowing what makes for Oligarchy. Anyone caping for a BILLIONAIRE (with a media company) able to buy endless ads & influence party rules halfway through is PRECISELY a perpetuator of the corrupt system--ie an Oligarch!

Regular people deliberating together and having the courage to stand by their convictions is “anti-democratic”? Cool cool.

Today is the 150th anniversary of the 15th Amendment's ratification, granting black men the constitutional right to vote. But as Barbara Fields so powerfully reminds us here, the fight for equality — at the ballot box & elsewhere — did not end there & indeed still rages on today.

This is the first time a mainstream media reporter has actually pressed Biden on how/why his son Hunter, who had no experience in natural gas, got a $600k/yr no-show job in a foreign country working for a natural gas company.

What Bernie and Trump supporters share, to a degree, is a lack of deference to legacy institutions. That’s good for democracy. It also shouldn’t be over-interpreted.

Fun fact: this conflict pits the original, Province of Maine boundaries set by Sir Ferdinando Gorges against those imposed after Massachusetts annexed Maine after the English Civil war (under a comical new interpretation of their charter.)
