it is such a tight rope. In the sense that journalism / truth has become a truly bottom up endeavor - it is hard to understand the incentives of an individual who has access to the world as an audience. So positive yet so destructive at the same time. I love your thinking and

How about: News items that are considered "front page" get counter-news funded by an investigative angency. Both news and counter-news are shown side by side, curated, but otherwise they can drop off the front page like Reddit. For common cases you can show a BS detection guide.
