I’m still waiting to hear the case for the type of application redux makes sense for. It’s almost always more effort and few gains in productivity.
Has anyone written up a postmortem/retrospective report on redux 
?
I want to read more about the kind of learnings that only arise over a longer timeframe + codebase size + engineer count.

For me, I am evaluating how to formalize some more things. We have a pattern that is close to what redux does but it is hand-rolled and is less "strict" than redux. Formality and strict compile time checking is still the gap that I am looking to solve for.

Seriously though, redux is just terrible, at any scale. It has one job and it does it so poorly that it requires ugly crutches like redux-thunk, redux-saga and redux-bullshit. And even with those in place it is still unbearable. Try mobx or mobx-state-tree for a better experience

Nice.. I recently developed similar library except with hooks. First I did go with connect interface, but hooks made it even simpler. Currently adding TypeScript support.. so that brings compile time checks
