Public land can and should serve the public good. We’ve found ways to work with the Federal Government to obtain 34 acres changing Army land to land for people. That’s a win for our entire community, not just those who will reside in the housing offered there. #FortLawton

Today we signed a proclamation declaring Feb. 1 as National Wear Red Day to raise awareness regarding heart disease and heart health. 1 in 3 women dies of heart disease or stroke, so to help raise awareness remember to wear red on Friday! #WearRedDay #goREDseattle @AHAPugetSound

The EMT's and paramedics who serve our city provide life-saving services in times of crisis. I hope that all sides can come to an agreement on a long-term solution that supports the important work of our emergency service providers.
