I remember how startled I was when I saw all the police-as-villains framing and cop killing in “The Matrix.” Not because I disagreed, but because it was something you simply never see.

Even in “The Matrix,” the cops are portrayed as innocent victims in a sense: the ones that are killed in the opening scene die because they are trying to unwittingly enforce the rule of the machines due to the lies about the rebels being terrorists.

That’s the real political correctness, that it’s nearly impossible to tell a story about cops as anything but heroes. Funny how the people who spend so much time screaming about everything being “too PC” don’t realize. :/

Even the Wire is guilty of this in many respects. The Cops are the "good" guys (even though they're frequently painted as corrupt and morally reprehensible in numerous ways) but aw shucks they're still good at heart.
