Got to do some playtesting for this super cute board game, and I had a lot of fun! I've never really looked at anything board game dev before, and I learned so much about universal game design concepts in the process.

Indie gamedev is mostly just wading through emails titled "Important! Action Needed!" but on good days you actually get to work on your game.

This is probably a silly question, but I am drawing a blank at the moment. We've got words like "seaward" or "skyward" which mean toward the sea or sky. What's the opposite term that would mean away from. Like... "skyaway," but preferably a word that already exists.

Gamedevs: When we cut down the size of a project, we often refer to it as using a "scope knife." Me, under my breath: "Scopel."

Okay, follow-up question, and I've been thinking about this for weeks: Is your visualization the same when listening to an audio book?

When you read a book, do you picture the events in your mind like a fully filmed movie, something more abstract (animation?), or do you not really picture anything at all?

For solo vs. team, "complicated" means the dev was solo, but got a friend to assist with something like proofreading. For first time vs. previous dev, "complicated" means a previous VN-like game was made, or that the team members have differing answers.
