We're grateful to for his thoughtful piece on making dementia a political priority. We agree that the ways we'll improve dementia outcomes are also the ways we need to reform the health and care system as a whole. Read more below 👇 #DementiaActionWeek #DAW2023

An honour to join my friend (and constituent) Betty Webb today to celebrate her 100th birthday! She served there during WW2, along with so many others, and the country will never forget.

Pleased to see these measures announced in the recovery plan today, and delighted Pharmacy First has got across the line. Primary care will continue to face long term demand challenges, but this plan will help support clinicians and patient access.

Disappointed to see Bromsgrove District Council move to no overall control with good Conservative councillors losing their seats. I would also like to congratulate all of the newly elected members. I look forward to working together, cross-party, to support residents.

Today's report highlights the abhorrent increase in child sexual abuse material online. The #OnlineSafetyBill is a chance to improve protections for children, including by implementing robust age verification for pornographic content.

Technology to scan devices for child abuse and terrorist content should be used, former Home Secretary Sajid Javid says. He tells #R4Today images can be pre-scanned in a way that doesn't affect privacy. Tech firms like WhatsApp have warned against eroding end-to-end encryption.

As highlight in their report today, we have promising technology to protect adult privacy and ensure child safety. Tech companies have a moral duty to make sure they’re not blinding themselves and law enforcement to child sexual abuse.

Appalled by this minimisation of racism against Jews and other groups who may not have a certain skin pigmentation. Redefining racism in obscure ways damages the cause of tackling it - whether that’s majority vs minority, minority vs minority, or other ‘points of difference’.

Incredibly saddened by this news. Chris was an amazing person and friend. My thoughts are with his family. May he rest in peace.

We’re saddened to hear of the death of Chris Johnson. Before retiring in 2020, Chris, who was a former assistant chief constable, took on Mission 5000 to raise awareness of motor neurone disease. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

Child sex abuse is one of the most horrific crimes. As someone who has led cross-party efforts into how to tackle this scourge, Labour’s Trumpian ad is very disappointing. Let’s think of the victims and what more we can all do - together.

Welcome this firm action from the PM to target offenders and support victims, including children. These heinous crimes not only harm individuals, but impact entire communities too. There’s always more to be done to stamp this out.
