San Francisco is collapsing, and the crime and fear is very real for the remaining citizens — they will not be loyal for much longer

I strongly dislike apps like Citizen because they make people afraid of where they live. I was just digging around SF crime data, and it looks like it's actually at an almost all-time low? (unless I'm misunderstanding the data) - https://www.sanfranciscopolice.org/stay-safe/crime-data/crime-dashboard … - https://sfgov.org/scorecards/public-safety/violent-crime-rate-and-property-crime-rate …

Crime is why people are afraid of where they live. Being informed, aware, and upset are prerequisites for change.

I’m definitely not arguing against the notion that SF needs some government and policy change. I have always felt uncomfortable and unsafe walking around there. I was more-so just super surprised and fascinated when I saw that crime appears to be down rather significantly YoY.

yes, except for minor property crime (mainly car breakins) *every* type of crime is has been going down for for a dozen years as someone who has lived in major cities since the 90s, this all sounds like suburbanites who are afraid simply due to seeing poor people in the street
