I totally get that, I subscribe to a lot of channels too. My point here though is that by default I think that all notifications should be turned on when you hit subscribe, and THEN you could decide if you wanted to have them on or not for whatever channel you choose.

I prefer it the way it is. If a channel has content I want to see the second it's uploaded, I click the bell. If not, I leave it as the current default. I can see very clearly where new content is without more opt outs.
