    Under what law can the US can take Afghan money? Taliban nor no Taliban, this is Afghan government money. It does not belong to the US.

    9/11 was carried out by Saudi and Jordanian nationals. Al Qaeda was formed by Saudi and GCC nationals. Not a single Afghan took part in the tragic events of 9/11. Why should Afghans pay for the crimes of Saudis and other nationals. 9/11 victims rightly deserve compensation 1/2.

    I’ll withhold further comment until the formal announcement comes, but I’ll say this now: 9/11 victims’ families absolutely deserve assistance, but for the USG to do so by drawing on Afghan central bank assets appears highly bizarre if not outright illegal.

    Afghanistan's reserves isn't someone petty cash or pocket money or not even money to be used for humanitarian assistance. It's not Taliban's money either. I think the situation could have been handled much better.

    و بدین گونه آمریکا با هوشیاری میلیاردها دلاری که طی ۲۰ سال گذشته ادعا می کرد در بازسازی افغانستان مصرف کرده است را باز پس گرفت تحت نام « غرامت به بازماندگان قربانیان ۱۱ سپتامبر ۲۰۰۱» - مابقی را هم تحت نام « کمک های بشر دوستانه» به خزانه طالبانی می ریزد. و بدبخت مردم افغانستان!

    جو بایدن گفته نیمی از دارایی‌های مسدودشده افغانستان (حدود سه و‌نیم میلیارد دالر) را به بازماندگان قربانیان ۱۱سپتامبر۲۰۰۱ می‌دهد. انگار که مردم افغانستان عامل آن رویداد بوده باشد! برای بازماندگان قربانیان جنگ بیست سال اخیر با حضور امریکا در افغانستان چه کسی غرامت خواهد پرداخت؟

    Russia, China and Iran will look at this and laugh out loud. It is like US shooting itself on the foot. US is shooting its own credibility. Russia, China and Iran will tell US allies across the middle east that this is what you will get after US is done with you. Shameful!

    If you want recompense for 9/11 victims, Afghanistan is the wrong country to look for. None of the hijackers or planners were Afghan, but the vast majority were Saudi and yet, no one wants to ask a WEALTHY country to pay for an attack carried out mostly by people from there

    This is pouring salt on the wounds of Afghans.Such an undignified decision. Biden should be ashamed of himself. 9/11 was carried out by Osama Bin Laden and all of its perpetrators were Saudi nationals. If any party should pay it should be the Saudis’. Not a single Afghan was 1/2.

    Sorry to hear that; But this is the result of the normalization of the Taliban. Some Western media and journalists did not want to show the real reality of Afghanistan.

    Update2: Our sources confirm that North, alongside 9 other foreigners, working for intl organizations, have been kidnapped by the & are in Taliban prisons.
