There are a *lot* of terrible political analyses that flow from one original bad premise: That voters intensely disliking Hillary Clinton is inexplicable and so the 2016 election outcome must have a complex explanation.https://twitter.com/ne0liberal/status/1288543801687121920 …

I dunno, I'm being told that a potential vice presidential selectee is "too ambitions" and would only be "running for President on day 1," like either thing is a terrible quality in a goddamn Vice President. Pretty sure Clinton's 2016 "problem" is shared by ~50% of humanity.

He's not suggesting sexism isn't a thing. Of course it is! He's saying that that if you ignore the actual flaws Clinton had as a candidate that were specific to her, you end up (incorrectly) concluding it would be irresponsible for the party to nominate a woman.

No problems with HRC justify the vitriol against her except misogyny. It couldn’t possibly be any clearer given the alternative was Trump. Any white man, no matter how awful, unqualified and dangerous beats a highly competent, experienced and deserving woman.

I suspect other women would start to share the same problem pretty darn quick. The gendered treatment of HRC by the Republicans and the media was not because of her personality.

Err, considering no other woman has ever even been nominated how unique can her issues be?
-
Her hiring someone as incompetent as Roby Mook to run her campaign was quite unique imo.
