@PhillyD made the (likely correct) point that the ability for sites like SocialBlade to show specific counts, especially as they drop or climb substantially, have become like sports. The JC x Tati thing was fueled in no small part by the sub count streams. -
Yeah but they gained/ lost 1 mil in a day, being abbreviated wouldn't have stopped how obvious and fast the change was.

I’ve read that Instagram was going to take away public like views on posts, where it is only visible to the account holder. Something about helping to make people feel less validated by views & likes, etc...
