One of the most helpful things my therapist told me in the dark times was that trans people cannot be in straight relationship. I don't know if that's true or not true or what, but, i like it.

You have had relationships with people you were attracted to.

Cannot emphasize enough how enlightening it was when I finally started to understand sexual orientation as a broad spectrum instead of a line.

If a cis person asks if sleeping with me makes them either gay or straight, I respond, "Yes."

This isn’t exactly the reason I decided to lean into “queer,” because our configurations are different, but it definitely reinforces my belief in the utility of “queer.”
