With respect, the legal assertion here isn't accurate. That's not what Bostock says, nor is gender discrimination categorically forbidden where heightened scrutiny applies. You just need a good reason justified by real evidence, and sports segregation has been a classic example.

Trans girls are already subject to separate and invasive rules in most competitive sports--that we take drugs to change our bodies to make us 'safe.' That's our baseline, and it's missing not just from this piece but from many speaking on our behalf.

This part right here: "For those who believe trans children are inherently freakish and abnormal, it no doubt feels very important to exclude them from that picture of the all-American girl or boy." That was their goal with LGB stuff in the 90s and 00s. (1)

No matter what the issue is (race, gender, disability) these far right reactionaries are recycling the same arguments and methods of harming people. But they're fine with it, because they've never seen us as real people who deserve care and tenderness.

There's nothing ancient or false about knowing that men are stronger than women in most of the ways that are measured in sports. Most women know this, because we need to know it in order to try to avoid getting raped or murdered. Men kill women; women rarely kill men. Strength.
