"I was trying to cyber my girlfriend while my colleagues expected me to be listening" is such a strange thing to write off as "bad luck," like, if you had bare minimum respect for other people's time and effort this could have been avoidedhttps://twitter.com/conor64/status/1318333691999911936 …

When Occam's Razor suggests someone humiliated himself through a combo of technological error, pandemic circumstances, bad judgment, & bad luck, it seems like we should react w/ empathy, politeness, & forgiveness, as we would want to be treated, rather than punitive mockery

Every one of these guys coming to his defense is cranking it during work hours right? That's the takeaway from this?

Like, I've worked so many jobs where getting to go to pee was a hassle, and yet these people just have time to jerk it whenever?

I feel like this is so similar to the conservative response to getting caught being unfaithful to their wives with sex workers? They're so quick to sanitize a lack of respect for any one else's rights, needs, and consent, as "bad judgement" and the rest wasn't their fault!

Men are so weird. Can they NOT do this at work? Is that what they're saying? I'm so disgusted.

Optimistically, I think some of the apologism can be traced to the most reputable outlets genteel-ly reporting "Toobin's penis became visible during the call" while the tabloids were the ones to print, "Sources on the record say he was jacking off."

What's wild is the doubling down. Like if you write a tweet in which you think you are defending a man who foolishly worked from home in his boxers, thinking his camera was off, and then stood up and his dick flopped out... and then you find out he was cranking it... just say so!

Thank you for using "cyber" in the only connotation that will be burned into my brain for the rest of my days, regardless of how the gen pop uses it
