Actually, a book was recently released that pieced it all together. She died last year.https://www.forbes.com/sites/michellefabio/2018/04/25/true-crime-author-michelle-mcnamaras-legacy-sealed-with-arrest-in-golden-state-killer-case/#11b273ac378a …

Yes I've heard of it & have been meaning to read it, will definitely order, sad she's not here to see this
-
You can check out her husband's Tweets on the matter. He pushed for her book to be published after she died.https://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/Patton-Oswalt-Michelle-McNamara-Golden-State-Killer-480833001.html …

#GoldenStateKiller arrested after match with “discarded DNA”. Who tipped you off in the first place? -
This is what we all wanna know
-
Familia DNA popped and then they deduced to him; after grabbing his discarded DNA, they had him.
-
I can’t get confirmation on that. Where did you hear it?

Sad that the
@sacsheriff didn't acknowledge#MichelleMcNamara for helping to keep the case in the public eye. -
I think a question was asked about it towards the end of the press conference and he said that what that book did do was keep it in the public eye although there was nothing in the book that helped lead them to the person in custody.

He was a cop right?
-
Yes. He was fired from the force for stealing a hammer & dog repellant.
He knew to park just outside of standard police parameters. They always thought it may be an officer. Shame they couldn’t compare photos of fired officers w the sketches. He was a dead ringer back then. -
He was employed by 2 different police depts: One from 1973-1976 (blanking on the city's name) and then Auburn from I think 1977-1979.
-
The earlier city was Exeter. During the time the Visalia Ransacker was commiting dozens of bizarre burglaries. Investigators believe he was committing the crimes while an officer.
-
Yes! That's it, thanks! My brain kept defaulting to "Vidalia," and I knew that wasn't right. (I'm originally from GA.)
