Why do you think a) this trend is occurring and b) in spite of the data there remains a negative perception towards older founders?

Starting a company is incredibly difficult, regardless of whether it's your 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. I think many perceive VC as a far more enjoyable path to deriving meaning from startups & the technology industry compared to being a founder.

I worked for a lot of younger entrepreneurs then I worked for Chris Larsen. I can list a ton of reasons why experience matters especially in regulated spaces but love that experience brings empathy for cultural elements: family life, diversity, playing the long game etc.

+1. Tangentially, I’d like to see this campaign grow bigger, much bigger https://endageism.com/ . This is a particular problem in SF and the Bay Area. Everyone benefits from ppl w wisdom n exp in the local workforce (instead here ppl feel the need to flee to Austin etc post 35)

As a founder whose done multiple startups starting at 23, the decision to become an investor in my 40s rather than do another startup wasn’t based on finances- but was very much based on how much work and stress goes with a startup- that doesn’t really change with age.
