    This attack did occur, but it wasn’t Mitnick that performed it. Also, Shimomura’s machine was already owned before Kevin finally was given access, and it was logged. I’ve seen the logs.

    1994: Kevin Mitnick allegedly performed a remote attack against Tsutomu Shimomura’s personal computer, gaining access by using source address spoofing and TCP sequence prediction. But there's no proof he did it and it's generally accepted he lacked the required technical skills.

    This is not how "responsible disclosure" works. In the past, I've waited weeks for some companies to secure servers. These guys couldn't wait a f***ing day. Talk about being unprofessional. 14 minutes (my bad, not 9) means you didn't actually care about disclosure at all

    Let me say this: not getting accepted is not always a REJECTION of your talk. Sometimes, it's that we had two similar talks and needed to pick one. Or your theme didn't fit ours quite right. Or a hundred other reasons that aren't due to the quality of your submission.

    This is a wild fraud

    Whoa. This YouTuber was contacted by an AV sponsor. DLd the software to test it. Turned out to be malware. Hackers took control of his YouTube account and Adsense account and is now selling his YouTube account right out from under him...
