That's true actually But still, I can't see how subscriber numbers make a difference on your income which is about views. In all honesty, they should abbrieviate view counts if that was the case

seeing your numbers go down shows that people are losing interest in your content. you don't get that from views

You do get that from views you pleb. If it’s less than your other videos, it means people aren’t interested. If it’s higher, it means people are interested.

that's true but it's a lot less obvious when there are a bunch of different videos that get treated differently by the algorithm. seeing your subscriber number go down is a lot clearer

The only people who’s sub count goes down is people who don’t care about their YouTube channels and James Charles

and people who get unfairly treated by the algorithm

By not posting anything (aka don’t care about their YouTube channel)

not exactly. many people find it hard to cope with an algorithm that very much favours daily/regular uploads and go through burnout or stop enjoying making content. having to compete with corporate channels that can upload multiple videos daily makes it even harder

Even those don't have dropping subcounts

they do though, people lose interest if they stop being recommended videos by a channel or if the channel stops uploading for a while
