    And then, this. The State vs The People. A new narrative of “liberalism” versus “realism” would be birthed. Media exposure. Twitter wars. Bans. The BBC. Shades of Bangladesh. The Viral Video would destroy the dignity of both Unit and those it was tasked to save.

    Cordons and curfews would replace customs. Checkpoints would become contentious: essential for security, but purgatory for the locals. Far off, in Karachi, a corrupt cop would ensnare a contract to kill. Further off, the vultures would circle. Then, the PTM would arrive.
