This is poorly done.She establishes US as d savior throughout,makes oversimplified & generalizing claims, has no knowledge of Feminism(s) in AFG,essentializes women's struggles as a solely Western concept & positions herself as an authority,deciding what AFG feminists should do.

This conservative ideology was originally created by the west in #FATA. In order to justify their failure of course now it became an internal struggle.

There is some merit in this article. We remain a highly misogynistic society. However, we know these issues so no new revelations and nothing “thought provoking!” And by handing us over to the Taliban you ain’t helping us with our misogyny and radicalism...

Afghan women have been in charge all along! Sad Dr Benard doesn’t recognize the dedicated sacrificial fight that afghan women (and some men) have exerted as such! Western involvement has in many ways impeded rather than supported women’s advancement.
