Request for recommendations: books on grassroots activism. What has worked historically? What are the essential components of an effective grassroots campaign?
I have a vague memory of a leftist saying they were inexperienced & ran their protests poorly?

From what say I've seen (my friend was a participant), they were very organized — at least in the Netherlands. Their internal support structure looked very strong to me. I'm afraid I have no specific expertise on this :( , just a regular person's impression.

ahh, now I remember, the criticism was that mass arrests are a tactic that only works for privileged people (who can afford time off work, won’t be treated as bad in jail, etc) so the movement isn’t inclusive. Which doesn’t rule out that it can be effective!
