I was in grad school for math. First year. Alyssa took me to see the Social Network & that made me think “wow, startups are this thing you could get really rich doing.”

I knew before then that I was working in a “hot” field of math with industry applications, and I could already program, but the “fast money in California woooooot” narrative, I think, reached me from the movie first.
