What is one thing that everybody understands but you don't?

(I try not to do too much performative "I just don't GET how people can like this thing, how can people be different than me?!" Top 40 pop hurts my head but I guess that just means musical taste is very personal, whatever. )

but there's stuff that is supposedly easy that I *literally* don't comprehend as well as most people, like movies. And time I guess? Time seems really hard to track and integrate for me & most people don't seem to have any trouble remembering or planning.

This is such a great example of cognitive diversity, and v. endearing.

Woah... this is exactly my experience.
@Meaningness and I watch approximately one film per year together and it usually ends up with us pausing so he can very patiently address my confusion as to what’s going on, who the people are, and why I’m supposed to care. -
Film is its own form with its own grammar and vocabulary. It’s not much like drama, for example. (You could directly film a play, but that’s almost never done commercially.) A good analogy is a genre like science fiction in which the reader is expected to know certain tropes.

I only manage to process a small portion of the movie every time I watch it.
