We both believe hard data over sketchy ideas, of course. But he’s more willing than me to make predictions based on economic concepts or other verbalizable models when he doesn’t know specifics, whereas that feels way too sketchy for me.

This is an interesting framing, because I have always perceived men as more likely to be anti-authoritarian, but maybe they were just more comfortable being open about it?

@oscredwin and I are both quite anti-authoritarian relative to most people. How much you are *in favor* of authority figures, or how compliant you are, is a different question to how much you literally believe their statements. - 3 more replies

This thread is actually surprisingly relevant to me on a personal level; I'm struggling with a lot of social skills because people *tell* me that something is okay but deep down I don't believe them; I have to *see* it in action to learn and I don't have any peers to learn from.
