COVID19 is officially spreading in Northern California, which is my cue to get out of town with my family; we’ll be visiting relatives for a bit. https://www.davisenterprise.com/local-news/newly-diagnosed-coronavirus-patient-being-treated-at-uc-davis-medical-center/ …

It's ok to be concerned, but I wonder - do you get the flu every year? If no, then it seems likely you won't get this either, right?

This is way more infectious than the flu. 3000 health workers in China got it, despite the best precautions they could take. The massive lockdown in Wuhan could not stop new infections so far. Three Japanese quarantine officials got it during a short visit to the cruise ship.

It is also quite a bit worse than the flu. The flu cuts a week out of your life. But mild COVID-19 cases take 2-3 weeks to resolve. 20% of the cases are severe, take 4-6 weeks and may do lasting damage to your lungs, brain and kidneys. You may even die. Don't get it.

Everyone has to make the decision that's right for them. I'm just trying to help people manage their anxiety, because that doesn't help anything.

I’m not anxious, just cautious. And lucky enough to be *able* to leave. Not saying everyone has to make the same decision.
