Is there any reason why it’s not physically possible to focus a current from an external headset to a location inside the brain? For a non-invasive equivalent of deep brain stimulation? Too much scattering?
TMS generally targets cortex. There are also some neuro disorders treated with an implanted electrode, eg to the pallidum for Parkinson’s, I assume because TMS won’t work that deep.

So how are you proposing to focus the current more deeply than with TMS? Or are you asking if TMS can be focused deeply? I’m just trying to understand the precise question.
