Common threads: the obvious questions to ask as a human are "who are we? where did we come from? what is the brain/mind doing? what's up with living and interacting in groups? how can we intervene on any of these systems to get more of what we want and less of what we don't?"

a strong signal of sincere curiosity is that someone is tackling one of the basic human questions, in a tactical/tractable/gears-level way. Opining about the human condition or obsessing over an arcane detail of dubious intrinsic interest is less likely to signal being My People.

I think Your People are also My People. If you were dropped into a new city, how would you find Your People in the physical world the fastest? You can use digital tools in your answer.

I've had decent luck with meeting people at conferences and technical meetups (the person talking animatedly is usually My People). That plus everybody comes to the Bay eventually.

I want to do some recon outside of the bay and uncover the people who haven’t found Their People.
