What are the *best* reasons you know why drug candidates shouldn’t be tested on invertebrates before trying them on mammals?

ofc translatability is only one side of it- there are also the drugs that _do_ work in vertebrates but _not_ in invertebrates, which we'll likely never get an estimate of since they would be rejected in the screening process

This is what I came here to say - there are both type 1 and type 2 errors here. I’m just as worried about missing drugs that work on humans but fail in other organisms.
