Startup idea: a platform where anyone can hire a vetted independent researcher -- think @gwern, @alexeyguzey -- to do a literature review and answer questions on health, medicine etc.

Especially useful for topics for which the Google results for are totally skewed because it is considered "settled" (e.g. sleep), has become political (e.g. vaccines), or is taboo to question (e.g. [REDACTED])

There aren't huge numbers of people that it makes sense for (there's a sweet spot in between "the typical doctor can handle this" and "welp, you indeed have an incurable disease and my googling won't help you") but we did actually help some people.

It's definitely not a startup though. It's a small consulting business. There is no way to put investment money in and get outsize financial returns out. The labor costs are high and scale linearly with # of clients.
