Like “Economics for Engineers” with the quotes on has long been an undergraduate course in college But is that textbook at all what you’re looking for? It should surface the Kelly Criterion, but like for exercising stock options, not for going deep into arbitrage ~pic.twitter.com/uMcKes9l4s

yes, Security Analysis by Graham and Dodd. First published in 1934, but really the OG textbook on finance and investing

agree with Riva, although G&D presupposes active security selection which isn't (or shouldn't be) for most people in efficient markets such as public equities and fixed income.

Talking about stuff like Kelly Criterion suggests you want a “theory of finance” textbook - follow that search term and buy any of the top hits. That gives you all the basics, like CAPM, Fama-French, Black-Scholes, etc

If you want to go to a more object level, I would plug one of my favorite econ textbooks ever, Financial Institutions and Markets by Meir Kohn, which talks about *who* and *what* the “market participants” actually are. Much more what I love about econ!

Nick Szabo writes correctly (imho) and succinctly about money. I doubt much more is needed. His writings are on the web, e. g. here: http://unenumerated.blogspot.com/
